Problem installing PCI Etherfast Network Adapter.?
When I try to install software for my Linksys Etherfast Network Adapter (goes into PCI slot, ethernet cable plugs into adapter) on my Windows 95 computer, a message always pops up "Please insert Windows 95 CD-ROM. I do this, but the files needed are not found (an error message shows up), and so the hardware isn't installed right and screws up. Even if I insert the floppy disk from the manufacturer to find the driver, the file is still not found... PLEASE HELP!
Is this a new adapter? If so, did it come with a Windows 95 driver? Since Win95 is no longer a supported operating system, most other mfgrs aren't supplying drivers for it.
The message to insert the cdrom may be automatic when looking for a driver (it's been a long time since I looked at win95).
If this is an old adapter that you're reinstalling, you may have a bad floppy. (They do go bad after a while.)
