What network attached storage device would you recommend?
Hi.
I am looking to purchase a device that will enable me to download Torrent files independent of my PC.
That way, when I am downloading large Torrent files, I can turn my PC off and save power.
The cheapest device is the Emprex P2P Download Engine - seen here http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?ModuleNo=222670&doy=17m5#overview.
Many others I have seen are very expensive, such as the Synology DS-108j - seen here http://www.komplett.co.uk/k/ki.aspx?sku=351182.
I have to bear in mind that on top of these NAS devices, I would need to buy an external hard disk drive.
What NAS device would you recommend I use for downloading Torrents independent of my PC?
Also, are there any NAS devices that contain hard disk drives?

If, as you say, all you are trying to do is save electricity, this isn't a very good solution.
You're talking about investing well over 100 pounds in some hardware which also runs on electricity. How long do you think your PC would have to be switched off for that to save you anything?
If you're talking about being able to work independently while the stuff is being downloaded then it might make sense.
