my dogs were under control on a lead, i surely cant be held responsible for a cat jumping out at them can I?, the owners said if i dont pay vet bill of £418 (cat was put down) in 24hrs they will take me to court, can anybody help pls?
They way I see it your dog was under control on a leash if a cat is going to jump out of no where your dog is going to act on instinct and defend you first of and then defend its self your dog isn't going to sit there and let a cat attack him/her but find out your rights do your research call a few people who can help you find out before you go rushing into paying off anyone's pet vets hope you win if you even go to court but remember its not your fault don't feel bad and fight for your dog
Okay I just asked a friend of mine who graduated from Law school he says he'd need more information to give you a solid answer but if your dog is on a leash and you tried to control your dog it would be in your favor and also a vet bill doesn't mean anything unless their were witnesses your lawyer can easily say that the cat could have been attacked by dog there's no solid proof...I hope that helped
