Can anyone please tell me how to repair a "problem with shortcut" message that I keep getting??

Message reads "The driver or network connection that the shortcut set up VRM LINK refers to is unavailable, make sure disc is properly inserted or the network resource is available."
I do not have any disc. The computer is a least 10year old. (Compaq v500) ex office type. with Windows 2000 professional installed.
To do a complete factory Restore on it would be great .
There is no restore facility in system tools. Back up facility asks for the disc that I dont have.
Perhaps you may know where I can obtain one.

You can not point a shortcut to something you do not have. It may be something that was on your hard drive, or may have been on a network drive. Remove the shortcut.
