trying to buy memory for a mac pro? any help?
just bought a new mac pro and it has
1GB (2 x 512MB) of 667MHz DDR2 Fully-buffered DIMM ECC
whatever that means... and i need 4gb of ram. anyone can advise me bearing in mind my budget is practicaly none existant. ive heard buying from apple is good memory but a total rip off.
Anyone recomend a good place to buy memory?
Does it really make a difference who you buy it from?
Is it really not worth your time buying cheapo memory for an expensive mac?
and any other things you think i should know about memory?

Be careful shopping around outside of Apple. Apple does sell additional memory but it is on the slightly pricey side. If you find something elsewhere too good to be true then it probably is, consult someone who knows what they're doing when it comes to buying memory from a 3rd party.
