I want to get VoiP, but I would need to cancel my DSL and phone line from Atnt?

atnt only offers dsl if u purchase phone line at the same time, so i would need to get comcast (cable internet) and I am gonna use ooma as my VoiP,

If i have Cable Internet, how would the ooma scout work when connected to the phone line jack?

You don't need a phone line to get AT&T DSL anymore. Check out their website. Its called AT&T DSL Direct. I don't know about Comcast prices, but if they're similar to Time Warners Prices, they are not double that of AT&Ts. They are generally the same.

As for your question, I don't know about ooma, but I've used a VOIP service called Packet 8 (similar to vonage) and they give you a box that connects to the DSL/Cable modem, whichever you have, via an ethernet cable. Then you hook up a regular phone to the VOIP box via a regular phone jack. Then bam, you make phone calls.
