How do i mount a Hoffman nema enclosure to a, 27 inch in circumference, round pole? 100 ft in the air?
Its for a mesh network R.F radio. Any ideas would be helpfull. The hoffman weather proof (nema type 3R) enclosure. is 16 by 16 by 6. The pole is 9 inches in diameter and 27 inches in circumference.
Normally, we would mount the box to some square steel or aluminium tubing mounted to the pole with u-bolts. Drill holes in the square tubing to access the u-bolt nuts before mounting the box. Make sure the u-bolt doesn't extend past the square tubing. You are tightening the nuts to the inside of the tubing. Then just mount the obx.
100 feet in the air? You need a climber. The pole has climbing pegs, doesn't it?
We have also used large stainless steel straps for jobs like this. We bolted the straps to the NEMA box, then strapped it to the pole. Use 2 bolts per strap, in this case spaces about 6 inches apart. Use as many straps as you feel is necessary.
