Fixing Raid 1 mirror degraded.?
Ok I have a dell dimension xps gen 2 desktop and the raid 1 mirror said degraded when i booted the computer up. I replaced the CMOS battery inside of it and tried to re-create the raid mirror through BIOS ans wiped the drive. Now The computer will not recognize the second hard drive. Says missing
I reinstalled XP with SP3 and am only running off of one drive. I cannot find the other hard drive in my device manager. I cannot find the Intel raid controller in the device manager. I booted from the driver cd and created a raid disk. I then booted the OS cd and pressed f6 to create and it said that windows had a newer driver than the one on my floppy disc. I then tried to use the driver on my disc and i got a blue screen with fault codes

So how do I get this back to normal. The computer came with 2 250gb drives in a raid 1 config with Intel 82801er sata raid controller.
I would try to flash the BIOS with a newer version if there are any available for your motherboard. Look and see with a hardware inspection program such as SiSoft Sandra what BIOS version you have. Also, have a look on the motherboard manufacturer's website and see if there are any newer RAID drivers. I've had the same problem before and with a new BIOS along new drivers everything worked fine.
