i want to know why i enter chat, it always says there was a problem communicating with the voice server.?
then it says attempting to reconnect. and i just want to know why does it say that all the time now, and what do i have to do to get voice back?and it never reconnects.
Most of the time, this is a firewall or router issue. Y!M uses the following ports for voice chat:
5000-5010; TCP and UDP protocol.
Configuration varies for different firewalls, but make sure that
your firewall is not blocking these ports (create a rule or exception allowing connection for each port if needed).
Also check to make sure that yahoo voice servers are not being blocked by your firewall software.

If you have a router, enable port forwarding for those ports.
And of course, check to see that your firewall or security software has not blocked ymessenger.exe (or ypager.exe for older versions) from accessing the net.
Also, check Y!messenger connection preferences. Default setting should be "no proxies". Try connecting to voice with "no network detection.
