I want to change the zoom function on my Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000, but I can...?

...only switch it off?
I bought a 'Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000', however while most of the buttons can be changed quite easily the one I want to change is the zoom button which is less than useless in its default setting. I can switch it off and that is all, is there any backdoor way in which I can change the function of it.

I did read something somewhere but have lost that article...

I don't know about Microsoft keyboardS but just try if this will also work for you. Since your concern is just the zooming function, do this. Hold the CTRL key and if you are using a mouse that has scroll function - I dunno what we call that but the one that you scroll pages up or down. Sorry, the up and down keys don't work for this, only that scroll button on your mouse works for this. That's only it. I don't know how to save this into settings also but I am only doing this when I feel I want larger fonts. Try it.
