Step down from 12VDC to 6VDC.?
Hello everyone!
I've an electrical device(thermal electric module) that runs at Vmax of 10VDC and Imax of 6Amps.
I would want it to run at 6V(approx 60%) but the problem now is that my battery is 12V. It is going to be switched by a SSR relay.
Is there a way to step down the voltage so that i dont burn off my device? Can a simple resistor do a job? and if yes how much ohm?6v=6amp*R? =)
Or is there a more efficient alternatives?
Thanks in advance!
Sorry to trouble you guys.
I'm not good in electrical stuff at all

Hmm...is it possible to provide a calculated value of what kind of resistor value to use? thanks a lot.
Full wave bridge rectifiers are pretty cheap. I would get 6 of them and put them in series with the DC supply. A full wave bridge has a voltage drop of about 1.3V a piece when you measure + to - for each rectifier. (Each rectifier module has 2 diodes junction.)
