my dad and i have this theory that you can power a car amp/subs with not a car battery charger...but with the cord that charges that. From my knowledge you need to convert the 120v from a house outlet into the 12v that the amp takes; and the cable that charges the jumper has a 120v input and 12v output, so does this mean if we strip that cable to and connect the positive and negative wires into the (+) and (-) speaker wire will it work?
you need to look at the power supply on your cable to see the amperage rating.it should say it outputs 12v at -- amps.if that amp rating is equal to or greater than the fuse size in the car amplifier it could probably be used.
most of the charger chords i have seen only put out about 3 amps of power.not enough for a car amplifer that makes above 25 watts of power.
