I've got to install an optic fibre telecommunications cable into a Mosque?

Being white and from an area where there is no Asian community, I don't know if there's anything myself and the engineers working for me should be careful of. For example do we need to remove our shoes, and an item we'll use (optical fibre termination 8001C) is commonly known as "pigtails". Would it be offensive to even say that. Sorry for my ignorance but I really don't know these things and I don't want to upset anyone.
Thanks Meme, you say remove your shoes. I haven't actually been to the Mosque yet, but I know there is a washroom. I'd guess the whole of the Mosque isn't a shoe free area? Would you think that's the case and it's perhaps just certain areas where we'd be expected to remove shoes.

It's well known that it is deeply offensive to say pig tails and I think that fibreoptics are also banned in the Koran. Mentioning the word termination is only going to lead to trouble and 8001C is a sign of extreme bad luck. Can't you ask your managers to send you on an easier assignment - liking building a McDonalds in Baghdad?
